Roncalli athletes to compete collegiately

Six Roncalli High School senior athletes have signed letters of intent to compete collegiately.

Sam Eiland signed to play volleyball at St. Xavier University (Chicago) under coach, Tom Ryan. Eiland was named two time All-State, two time AYCA Midwest Player of the Week, two time All-Conference and 2018 IBVCA All-Tournament, Indy Star Player of the Year, Single Season Record of Assists (950), and two time Offensive Player of the Year. He is the son of Mark and Mary Eiland.

Nolan Hoffman

Nolan Hoffman signed to play lacrosse at Colorado Mesa University (Grand Junction, CO) under coach, Vince Smith. Hoffman was named to the 2017 All-Conference team, All-State defensive MVP and 2018 2nd Team All-State, All-Conference overall MVP. He is the son of Mike and Kristen Hoffman.

Elizabeth Eads

Elizabeth Eads, who was two times All-Conference, two times All-County, 2018 Academic All-State, 2018 All-Regional Team and Senior South All-Star, signed to play volleyball at the University of Indianapolis under coach, Jason Reed. Eads plans to study Marketing. Her parents are Eric and Robin Eads.

Grace Hegwood

Grace Hegwood signed to play volleyball at the University of Indianapolis under coach, Jason Reed. Hegwood was three time All-Conference, two time All-County, two time All-District, 2018 2nd Team All-State, 2018 All-Star Team, 2016 team MVP, two time Best Offensive Player and had 1,000 kills. Her parents are Mike and Kelly Hegwood.

Taylor Kehoe

Taylor Kehoe signed to play volleyball at Maryville University (St. Louis) under coach, Gretchen Moser. Kehoe was Academic All-State and plans to study Physical Therapy. Her parents are Mark and Jill Kehoe.

Maggie Schoening

Maggie Schoening, who was 2018 Academic All-State, signed to play volleyball at Benedictine University (Lisle, IL) under coach, Erin Cooper. Schoening was also recognized as Student of the Year (Advanced Women’s Chorus, French 1 & 2, College & Career Prep and Religion), Student of the Month (English 9 Level 3), three time All-State Honors Choir, Orpheus & Singing Rebel Award Winner and 2017, 2018 ISSMA Gold Rating. Her parents are Jon and Renáe Schoening.

“Congratulations to our senior student-athletes signing with their future schools! Thanks for all you have given to our school community these past four years. Also, thank you to the families, coaches and teammates for coming out to support this event!” said David Lauck, Athletic Director of Roncalli High School.
