Six Roncalli athletes to compete collegiately

On Feb. 6, six Roncalli High School senior athletes signed letters of intent to compete collegiately.

Anna Bauer signed to play basketball at Hanover College (Hanover, Indiana) under coach John Jones. She plans to study Pre-Med (dentistry). While at Roncalli, she ran track and played basketball. Bauer was the team captain and on the Conference Championship basketball team and ranked 22nd in the state. She is the daughter of Dan and Pam Bauer.

Jacob Denney

Jacob Denney, who was on the Region 7 All Star football team, signed to play football at Saint Xavier University (Chicago) under Mike Feminis. Denney was on the 2016 State Championship football team. He also played baseball and was on the 2018 Circle City Conference Championship team for basketball and received the Mental Attitude Award. Denney’s parents are Todd and Jill Denney.

Luke Dill

Luke Dill, who holds the record for receptions in a game, also signed to play football at Saint Xavier University. He was on the 2016 State Championship football team. Dill plans to pursue Secondary Education. His parents are Joe and Joelle Dill.

Max Lundy

Max Lundy signed to play baseball at Wabash College (Crawfordsville, Indiana) under coach Jake Martin. He was second team All-Marion County and first team Circle City Conference. Lundy was on the Marion County Championship baseball team, the Circle City Championship team and two-time Sectional Championship teams. His parents are Troy and Terri Lundy.

Amanda Prather

Amanda Prather, who was All-County and All-Conference, signed to play softball at Trine University (Angola, Indiana) under coach Don Danklefsen. Prather was on the Marion County Championship softball team. She plans to study Forensic Science. Her parents are Brian and Nancy Prather.

Zach Rodriguez

Zack Rodriguez signed to play lacrosse at Concordia University (Mequon, Wisconsin) under coach Michael Fahey. He plans to study Biology. While at Roncalli, he was the team captain and played varsity for four years. Rodriguez’s lacrosse team had the Top 10 Defense for two years and was the Top 25 Team for four years. He is the son of Al and Karen Rodriguez.

“Congratulations to our senior student-athletes signing with their future schools! Thanks for all you have given to our school community these past four years. Also, thank you to the families, coaches and teammates for coming out to support this event!” said David Lauck, Athletic Director of Roncalli High School.
