Perry Senior Services hosts annual Luau-themed fundraiser on April 28
Volunteers at Perry Senior Services drove approximately 40,000 miles last year, which could have been 9 trips from Honolulu to Indianapolis.
They delivered 14,000 meals to senior citizens last year, enough to feed each senior citizen in Honolulu one time.
As Perry Senior Services is preparing for a party with a Hawaiian atmosphere. It’s annual Lei’d Back Luau will take place April 28, 6:30 p.m. at Primo Banquet Hall, 2615 National Ave., Indianapolis. Cost is $35 per person or $25 for seniors 60 and older.
“I think it’s going to be one of the best, with the entertainment,” said Perry Seniors Director Peggy Bryson. “We have some really neat silent auction items, items we’ve never had before. It’s always a good time.”
The Luau will have more than 100 silent auction items and some live auction items. Indy Hula will perform and even teach the audience a hula dance. Decor will stick to the theme, along with a luau cake complete with an image of a waterfall.
Perry Seniors, in its 39th year, uses the funds to provide meals for Perry Township senior citizens throughout the year, take seniors to medical appointments and more. It hosts a Euchre tournament every third Thursday for $2, and hosts free Bingo the first and third Tuesday of each month. Seniors can join at Perry Seniors Services, 6901 Derbyshire Rd., Southport, three times a week for a hot meal with friends, provided by CICOA.
RSVP is required for the Lei’d Back Luau: call (317) 783-9231.
