A ‘yellow brick road’ leads around the Beech Grove High School auditorium, up to the stage where students will perform The Wizard of Oz on Nov. 10, 11 and 12, 7 p.m. and on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.

“For Beech Grove this is our biggest musical we’ve done up to this date,” said director, Andrew Busch. “We’re excited to have the number of students we have. We have all the choirs involved. We have 50 children from the community playing the munchkins. We have students playing the pit orchestra.”

Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students or seniors. Whether a fan of the movie or looking for a family activity, Busch said this event is perfect for anyone.

“Our main characters really fit the characters from the play,” he said. “The kids have worked really hard, creating their own style for the characters but also staying true to the movie. We’re excited to show the acting, the music and the sets that we’ve been working really hard on.”
