Free Madison Avenue parade, car show to draw big crowd Saturday

Thousands of Southsiders are expected to jam Madison Avenue sidewalks for the 75-unit Miracle Mile parade at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Travel adventure series starts Sept. 19

GREENWOOD — Kiwanis and Southport Lions clubs have announced the 47th annual travel and adventure film series, narrated in person by world travelers.
The presentations are held at 7 p.m. in Greenwood Community High School auditorium.
These photographic masterpiece films are in natural color. They have been received with great enthusiasm in hundreds of cities across America. World famous travelers who filmed these full length moving pictures will appear on stage to describe the adventures and photo wonders.

Franklin Twp. School Board approves pact

Franklin Township Community School Board approved a two-year contract with the Franklin Township Education Association Monday.
The teachers group represents about 475 teachers.
